So here I am, grading your journal entries and being blown away. Your attention to detail, your thoughts and questions, the depth of your engagement both in class and in your journal entries...well, it got me thinking.
For some classes I have taught, I have established a blog in which students could post additional thoughts and comments based on readings for class and class discussions. This venue becomes a forum to continue conversations begun in class and to explore ideas and questions beyond the time constraints of our course. It can even be the launching point for classroom discussions as well, since topics that arise in the blog can find their way into Jordan Hall.
So there you have it. Post and read as you like. This is not part of your grade. It is simply an additional venue for those who are interested in taking their exploration of Greek perspectives a little deeper and/or a little broader.
And in case you were wondering, agora, is the Greek word for a marketplace or forum. It's where people would gather to discuss ideas. So welcome to the 21st Century Agora! Let the great conversations continue...
